CRIMES OF THE OUTMAN

A Feature Film by Reagan Cotton & Christian Miller

WHY GIVE?

VALIDATED FEEDBACK

Consistent feedback on the script has been: "I couldn’t put it down.” After we reached out, Bill Block, the CEO of Miramax from 2017-2023, was interested enough to review our material and told us: “You have a point of view and talent” and has committed to watching the film once completed.

GREAT STORIES ARE RARE

We spent 2.5 years writing ours until we believed it was of genuine quality. Why? Because we yearn for and enjoy watching thrilling, challenging, nuanced and amazing stories. So, we are committed to likewise what we love.

PEOPLE OF THE PROJECT

People are the most essential part of filmmaking. A script is a set of ideas, which are the foundation for the final work. The task of making a film is for many people to come together and give everything to delivering those ideas in reality, honoring the merit of the script.

We have assembled an incredible group of diverse, serious, artful, and intentional people to achieve that. They put craft above everything else. Meet the artists you are enabling to create art.

We shot a proof-of-concept short

The objective was to capture the tone and character of the feature film while diving deeper into its world to aid in writing the script. We have grown a lot as filmmakers since, but it was a critical step in the journey.

Co-writers and directors Reagan Cotton & Christian Miller, best friends for fifteen years, co-wrote this screenplay over the course of 2.5 years. In that time, they shot a proof-of-concept short in Los Angeles to explore the character, and worked on several other shorts. During that time, they developed a close relationship with actor and actress Tom Koch and Rita Kasnauskaite, who will lead this film. Not only do they possess friendship with the director, but profound chemistry and trust, vital for deep character work. When the script was completed, Reagan and Christian began the journey of bringing the film to life.

It started by finding Anna Shakour in London, an amazing, creative, and insanely talented producer who stops at nothing. She has been laying the groundwork for this film to be highly successful when it shoots in London in 2025. Anna has put together a highly talented cast and crew of deeply intentional artists who are believers in the script and Anna. We wanted a team of Cillian Murphys, in terms of how they approach film, and she delivered it. Today, we are putting together the final funding to make the project possible. To enable these artists to give their all to this story. This is where you can become part of the project. Learn more here.
